Health context requires, the walls of the manor of Kéroual will not shake this summer. Exit the “free and incandescent” dancefloor, make way for intimate configurations with gauges not exceeding 2,500 spectators. From July 2 to 17, the first electronic music festival in France reinvents itself, experiments and frees itself with a series of beautiful electronic and sonic meetings woven with its partners.
Faithful to its desire to share and cross cultures, the event called “Waiting for the rave” will give pride of place to outdoor formats and original collaborations. Sitting, standing, lying down… Each event will offer a different dimension adapted to the place, with a maximum capacity limited to 2,500 people.
Tiersen and Lesneu opening at Bertheaume
In total, twelve meetings are scheduled in six different playgrounds. Some places had never been explored by Astro, like the fort of Bertheaume, which will host Yann Tiersen and Lesneu opening, Friday July 2. Among the expected moments, the organic shows of The Paradox, where the fusional encounter between the pioneer of techno from Detroit, Jeff Mills, and the iconic jazz producer Jean-Phi Darry, on Sunday July 4 at the Capucins.
In the meantime, on Saturday July 3, a first at the belvedere of the new polder of Brest, facing the harbor, with the discoveries of the itinerant festival Les Femmes Involves (Lucie Antunes, Tryphène…). Another promising sensory experience, immersive 360 ° audiovisual creations under the multicasting dome of the Carène. No less than four original spatialized sound projects will be presented in the Brest room, with Zadig and Kmyle, Nze Nze, Electric Rescue and Pidoom, on Friday July 9 and Saturday July 10, as well as Friday July 16 and Saturday July 17.
A rock party on July 10
To tick off on the shelves for rock lovers, on Saturday July 10! Astropolis escapes from its electronic straitjacket for a stimulating evening at Fort Penfeld with the noiserock of Peter Kernel, the melodious rock with Mancunian accents of Hoorses and the cold-wave of the Rennes anti-hero duo Gwendoline.
Other highlights of this Astro unlike any other, a Midi & Demi open air version on July 7 at the Capucins belvedere with, among others, Chapelier Fou, but also an electronic nap in a lying position at Passerelle on July 10. Without forgetting three other evenings at Fort de Penfeld in different colors: dark and experimental with Manu Le Malin and Oyé on July 9; old school electro with Dopplereffkt and Anthony Rotter, July 16; and finally house, with Marina Trench and Nicky Elisabeth, on July 17th.
