Arts Huntsville wants local artists for City Hall

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – The Huntsville Public Art Committee and Arts Huntsville are partnering with the city to showcase local artists in the new City Hall. Up to four artists or teams will be featured in one of the building’s four locations.

Both the Public Art Committee and the Town of Huntsville believe this is a great opportunity to showcase the talent and beauty of the community.

“This is truly a great opportunity for artists who have never seen their art in the public arena before,” said Jennifer Johnson, Public Art Program Director. “We see this as a launch opportunity for some of these artists who have this professional training…we are here to help and bridge the gap between our local artists who work privately and the public art world.”

All artists who wish to submit their art can do so on their website. The deadline for submission is July 24.

A video orientation for interested artists will be posted the week of June 13 on the Arts Huntsville YouTube channel. Questions can be directed to Artistic Program Manager Jennifer Johnson at
