Arsenal’s biggest ‘problem’ could end up winning them the title, says Tony Cascarino

rsenal could have the depth of their squad to thank, should they go all the way and win the Premier League title.
That’s according to Tony Cascarino, who believes the Gunners have resolved what was initially described as a key reason why their bid to end a two-decade wait for the crown would ultimately fail.
Sunday’s victory over Fulham owes much to the creativity of Leandro Trossard, as the January signing played a role in all three goals, catching the eye of former Chelsea and Ireland star Cascarino.
The Belgian’s fine form since signing as a substitute for Arsenal’s first-choice follows key moments from Reiss Nelson in the club’s continued title chase.
“When Arsenal started their charge at the top of the table, one of the issues that people thought would hold them back was that they didn’t have a strong squad,” he wrote in The Times.
“They had a good starting XI, but there wasn’t enough squad depth to mount a title challenge.
“But this is just another example of (Mikel) Arteta’s Arsenal proving people wrong. Leandro Trossard’s signing was brilliant.
“Not only does he cover a number of positions, but he also gave Arsenal another way to play with that fluid frontline alongside Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli – they quickly gelled.
“Add to that the signing of Jorginho and the impact of Reiss Nelson, who scored that late winner against Bournemouth. Instead of costing them the title, the depth of the squad could help Arsenal win it.
