Karim Adeyemi is one of Europe’s most sought-after young talents, but any contender will have to wait until summer to sign the forward from Red Bull Salzburg.
Premier League duo Liverpool and Arsenal are linked with an interest in the Germany international, while Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund are also monitoring his services.
The Austrian Bundesliga club have reaffirmed their position that the 19-year-old will only be allowed to leave next summer, not in the January transfer window.
RB Salzburg chairman Harald Lurzerg said Lurzerg told the Bild Bayern Insider podcast: “We are aware that Karim will likely take the next step next summer.”
The teenager has become one of Europe’s most promising prospects for his sparkling form and the Gunners are reportedly interested in him to replace Alexandre Lacazette at the end of the season.
Lacazette is out of contract and Adeyemi has been named as the perfect replacement, but they face competition from Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp is also an admirer of the German player.
Adeyemi scored seven goals in his breakthrough campaign last season, but has already surpassed that total this season, and it wasn’t until November, as he currently sits atop the league’s scorers chart with 11 goals.
The teenager was called up by Hansi Flick to the German national team in September, coming in as a late substitute and scoring the team’s last goal in a 6-0 loss to Armenia.
And he’s not the first penny to come out of the ranks of Salzburg.
Erling Haaland was unleashed on the world by the club in 2019 when the Norwegian goal machine set the Champions League on fire.
Salzburg also discovered African gems in the form of Liverpool duo Sadio Mane and Naby Keita, both of whom plied their trade in France, while Takumi Minamino also joined the Reds after catching Klopp’s attention.
