Arsenal transfer news: Takehiro Tomiyasu joins Bologna and Hector Bellerin on loan at Real Betis | Football news

Arsenal have signed defender Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna on a £ 19.8million contract while Hector Bellerin has joined Real Betis on loan for the season.

The 22-year-old Japan international underwent a medical examination in Italy on Tuesday and signed a four-year contract with Arsenal, with the option of a fifth.

Tomiyasu can play both center-back and right-back and had sparked the interest of Arsenal rivals north London Tottenham earlier in the transfer window.

The Gunners had also been keen on signing Barcelona right-back Emerson Royal, but the 22-year-old’s preference was to switch to Spurs.

Hector Bellerin joined Real Betis on loan until the end of the season.
