New rsenal signings have quickly settled into north London as the Gunners have made a strong start to the season, but the club’s transfer business may not yet be over.
A central midfielder and winger are the positions Mikel Arteta is likely to target if Arsenal make any further additions before the end of the window, with Yeremy Pino and Youri Tielemans among the names on offer.
The Gunners are making progress on downsizing the squad, with Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira and Alex Runarsson gone, and the club want Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Hector Bellerin to follow them.
That could leave room for Arsenal to make at least one more signing this summer.
Here’s your latest Arsenal update transfer news and rumors…
It’s safe to say there was plenty of excitement among Arsenal fans when Edu was spotted boarding a plane to Spain.
Was he flying away for talks with Villarreal winger Yeremy Pino? The Gunners are certainly interested, but Fabrizio Romano reports the 19-year-old will cost £42million.
It is also claimed that at least two other Premier League clubs are interested in Pino which means negotiations will be difficult.
Speaking recently on interest in Pino, current Villarreal and former Arsenal boss Unai Emery refused to rule out selling the player.
He said: If an offer comes in for players like Yeremy Pino then he will have to leave. We have a responsibility with the club. It’s like that.”
As has been the case for much of the summer, Arsenal continue to be linked with a move for Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans.
However, it’s believed the Foxes would rather lose the Belgian for free next summer when his contract ends than sell him now, and that stance is getting tougher as we get closer to the end of the window.
Football.london claim Arsenal have therefore decided a move for Tielemans when he is a free agent is more realistic and are willing to wait another 12 months.
The Gunners are expected to make more sales in the coming weeks before they change their minds.
Reports have suggested Arsenal could make a move towards a ‘mystery winger’ late in the transfer window.
It was recently claimed that Pedro Neto could be that man, with the Wolves striker capable of playing in multiple positions on the front line.
The signing of Goncalo Guedes, who made his debut at the weekend, could be a sign Wolves are preparing for life without Neto, while the club are also closing in on a big move for midfielder Matheus Nunes.
Big spend from Wolves – did they do it expecting to make key sales in the next two weeks?
