rsenal have won four in a row and climbed into the Champions League places by beating Watford 3-2 at Vicarage Road.

The Gunners opened the scoring in five minutes through Martin Odegaard but they were quickly caught by Cucho Hernandez.

Mikel Arteta’s side regained their lead on the half-hour through Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli added a third after the break.

Watford fought back with a late goal from Moussa Sissoko but they were unable to complete an unlikely comeback.

The victory puts Arsenal in fourth place and bolsters their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.

Simon Collings was at Vicarage Road to rate Arsenal players…

Aaron Ramsdale 6

Could do nothing against Watford’s goal, which was a superb strike from Cucho. The cast wasn’t at its best, however, compared to its usual level.

Cedric 7

In Takehiro Tomiyasu’s absence, the Portugal international is in decent form. Played well today and contributed to Arsenal’s third goal.

Ben White 6

Was pretty solid for most of the game but will be disappointed with Watford’s second goal as Sissoko rose to his challenge before scoring.

Gabrielle 6

Not as dominant as they usually are and Watford caused Arsenal problems in the first half, particularly on the counter.

Kieran Tierney 5

Really struggled today and wasn’t at his best. Watford had all their joy on the left of Arsenal, with Kiko Femenia overlapping. Perhaps Tierney needed more support from Martinelli.
