If the story goes, Arsenal should avoid signing Tammy Abraham, Simon Jordan believes.
The 23-year-old has been linked with a Stamford Bridge exit for some time after falling out of favor under Thomas Tuchel.
Arsenal are one of the clubs linked to Abraham who are said to be interested in joining them.
However, The Athletic reports that Arsenal are in favor of a loan as Chelsea want to sell and hope to earn £ 40million in the process.
Arsenal, however, have had a bit of a nightmare signing Chelsea players in the recent past.
Willian joined the Gunners on a free transfer last summer and vowed to make the club Champions League contenders, but things could hardly have gotten worse.
The 32-year-old managed just one goal and five assists last season and reports suggest he will be allowed to leave the club if the right buyer can be found.
David Luiz also moved from west to north London, and while he’s been good at parts, he’s largely proven to be a disappointment in the Emirates – especially given his high salary.
And Jordan believes it would be wise for Arsenal to avoid Abraham – citing their failure with Luiz and Willian’s transfers as proof of his point.
“These are players who in their right mind would never have thought they were fit to play at Arsenal,” he told talkSPORT on Thursday.
“It’s not so much a question of reputation as when you go up against your competition and your competition says, ‘This player is not good enough for me, but he is good enough for you!’
“How does it work then? It’s universally accepted – and when I say accept, I mean everyone except Kia Joorabchian – would think that the deals that happened for Willian and David Luiz were just bad business and bad thoughts.
“These were players who weren’t suited to Arsenal’s lineup who needed something more.”
