Armed carjacker accused of targeting mother and daughter in Philadelphia

An investigation has been opened into the carjacking of a Philadelphia mother and her teenage daughter at their home last week.

The pair were leaving the Maxwell Place home around 6 a.m. on September 19 when an armed suspect approached, Fox 29 reported Thursday.

“It looks like he was waiting,” captain John Ryan told the outlet, adding that the man was riding a bike there and left it behind.

Video footage showed the suspect pointing what appeared to be a gun at one of the victims. Moments later, the woman held out her hand as if to prevent the suspect from approaching, then said, “Take what you want,” as he jumped into the driver’s seat:

No one was injured in the incident, according to Ryan, but the suspect took the woman’s bag and left it in the vehicle.

Officials recommended not resisting to avoid being injured in such circumstances, he added.

The news came as several Democrat-controlled cities across the country suffered an increase in violent crime this year compared to last.

Data reviewed by Fox News found that rates of violent crime such as homicide, rape, robbery and assault in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Baltimore were poised to surpass levels from last year.

“Philadelphia has seen a comparable increase in violent crime under Mayor James Kenney (D), even climbing 7% in 2022 compared to the first half of 2021,” the Breitbart News report said.

Kenney’s Philadelphia has seen 750 shootings in the summer months of 2022.

Last week, Breitbart News highlighted a Philadelphia plaintiff report showing an average of about eight people were shot daily in the city between this year’s Memorial Day and Labor Day.

Meanwhile, in Joe Biden’s America (D), a recent Convention of States Action/Trafalgar Group survey found that most citizens felt safer two years ago when former President Donald Trump was running the country.
