An Arizona man is at large after robbing an elderly woman at gunpoint from her driveway after following her home. Claudette Jones was returning from the bank when she realized that the man had started following her.
Before she could enter the driveway, the suspect blocked the entrance, jumped out of his vehicle, ran towards Jones and demanded money.
“(He) saw me coming out of the bank and probably thought that because I was old I had taken out money, but I didn’t take out any money. I was just paying my bill. credit card,” she told Fox 10 Phoenix. .

However, Jones had her grandson’s rent money in her purse. She recalls the incident happening “so quickly”, but didn’t go down without a fight.
“I think I had slapped his hand and that was the hand he had that gun in. I thought, ‘You stupid woman. He might turn around and shoot you, “but I was just upset that he was in my face,” she said.
“I couldn’t believe that face was there with a gun pointed at me like that, and I said, ‘Who are you?’ I couldn’t imagine this happening to me. I’m tough, but it scared me,” Jones said.

The suspect fled with her purse and her iPhone. Despite this terrifying incident, Jones vowed not to be a victim of it.
“I’m not afraid to leave my house, I’m not afraid to drive my car,” she says.
The theft was captured on Jones’ home security camera. Mesa, Arizona, police continue to search for the suspect who is still at large.
