Apple Inc.’s iPhone sales in China fell 19% in the March quarter, according to data from an independent research firm that marks the gadget’s worst performance in that country since the outbreak of Covid around 2020.
The U.S. company fell to third place in a hotly contested market, roughly tied with fast-growing rival Huawei Technologies Co., according to Counterpoint Research estimates. The overall market grew about 1.5%, driven by growth driven by local brands including Honor Device Co. and Xiaomi Corp.
