Appleby supplies four of the seven new entries to the Derby | Race news

Seven foals were added to the list of possibilities during the second entry stage for the Cazoo Derby at Epsom on June 5 – four of which are coached by Charlie Appleby.

Adayar, a nine-length winner in his second start at Nottingham, Hurricane Lane, a son of Frankel who scored on his Newmarket debut, One Ruler – last seen finishing second in the Futurity Trophy in Doncaster – and Yibir , who won his last two, including the Haynes, Hanson & Clark Conditions Stakes in Newbury, now all have the Classic as an option.

Other additions were Irish Legend by Hugo Palmer, unbeaten in two, Mac Swiney by Jim Bolger, conqueror of One Ruler in Doncaster Group One, and Mojo Star by Richard Hannon – who was beaten a nose in his only outing at Newbury.

The total number committed to the Blue Ribbon now stands at 122.

Entries were also revealed for the Cazoo Oaks, with 60 fillies entered.

A total of 31 people have been entered for the Coronation Cup – including a host of former Group 1 winners.

Last year’s Derby hero Serpentine is one of nine staged by Aidan O’Brien – with Tiger Moth, Santiago, Broome and Japan among them.

Melbourne Cup winner Logician, Pyledriver, Lord Glitters, Thunderous and Twilight Payment are also all entered at this stage.
