Apple is fighting to reduce its reliance on third-party vendors by taking component manufacturing in-house. One Analyst’s Latest Semiconductor Survey Ming Chi Kuo says Apple will backtrack on its Wi-Fi chip development and continue to rely on Broadcom as its primary supplier. Apple devotes most of its IC design resources to developing its chipset. Kuo also mentions that Apple always prioritizes its 5G modem development over the Wi-Fi chip project.
