APP rejects that there is “an agreement under the table” with the government of Pedro Castillo

Luis Valdez clarifies alleged alliance with the government.

Luis Valdez, Secretary General of Alliance for Progress (APP), responded on channel N about the possible approach to the government of Pedro Castillo. The rumors began with the meeting held a few weeks ago by the premier Mirtha Vasquez with the leader of APP, Cesar Acuna. Added to this are some statements by Acuña coming out in defense of the president, and two possible appointments in key positions of people related to the party: Carlos Jaico as secretary general of the presidency, and Rosmery Malpartida as chief adviser to the Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Do these facts configure an apparent rapprochement between the government and APP? Valdez said they have things clear, and consider that Castillo does not find the way to lead the country. Nevertheless, There is no proven cause of vacancy, and as long as there is no fact that generates suspicion, APP will support governance.

He added that from the beginning he has established a clear political position, and they have asked that the constitutional framework be respected. “We have demanded that the government provide a team that meets a meritocratic profile, and at the time we have asked for changes of ministers when merited”, express.

Regarding the meeting between the premier and the APP leader, he said that César Acuña’s house is almost a public place, attended by politicians, but he ruled out “That there is an agreement under the table, we reject that and emphatically discard”.

To strengthen his argument, Valdez recalled that after the meeting between Acuña and Vasquez, the next day the bench went out to ask for the resignation of Defense Minister Walter Ayala. “What we cannot stop doing is listening to the leaders, and if the premier requests a meeting, the minimum is to listen”, Held.

Regarding the possible election of Carlos Jaico as Secretary General of the Government Palace to replace the investigated Bruno Pacheco, he pointed out that he is one of the 300 thousand APP militants. And he made it clear that he has never held a position of political responsibility of any kind. “Today we found out that [Jaico] It has also gone through Popular Action, it has gone through Popular Renovation. Can we think that there is an arrangement with Rafael López Aliaga? “, he expressed.

He wished Jaico success, but publicly pointed out that they disagree with him. And he acknowledged that on one occasion he met with the former congress candidate.

Added that “In no way is APP going to go down a winding and not very transparent road”. And he reiterated that there is no agreement with the government. “This is a catastrophic government because they do not have a plan, nor a team that allows us to look to the future with hope”.

THE WORD OF ACUÑA

This week, in statements to Exitosa, César Acuña spoke about the possibility of a presidential vacancy. The businessman asserted that, regardless of who is in the presidential chair, the reality is that they cannot support a peasant being the president.

“They do not accept that a peasant is president of Peru. It would have been the same if César Acuña had been president. They have to accept reality, today we have a president who has been elected by the people ”, stated the former presidential candidate.

On whether his party would support an eventual vacancy against the head of state, the businessman ratified that they will not join these actions and expects the same from his Alianza para el Progreso bench. “I hope that the bench agrees with the founder’s thinking because we believe that APP has been founded to serve Peru and the only way to serve is to try to defend the institutionality and defend stability”, he pointed.

Regarding what was said by the party leader, Valdez specified that there was a misinterpretation of his words. But he was emphatic in stating that as a party they will support governance, as long as there is no cause for vacancy.

Regarding Bruno Pacheco and the 20 thousand dollars found in the bathroom of his office inside the Government Palace, he pointed out that it is a reprehensible fact that it is in the field of criminal offenses. “It’s like a dead man with a shot in the head found in the bathroom. The Public Ministry should have ordered an investigation a long time ago, because it is not a normal event. They have found it [el dinero] in a public entity ”, said.
