Anushka Sharma sends flying kisses to Virat Kohli from the stands as he reaches seventh century IPL record

After reaching his sixth century in the Indian Premier League against Kolkata Knight Riders on Thursday, May 18, Virat Kohli beat 100 others in Royal Challengers Bangalore’s ongoing game against Gujarat Titans on Sunday, May 21. Virat’s mighty score of 101 from 61 with 13 fours and a six took his home side to 197/5 in the must-win game.

Virat’s actress-wife Anushka Sharma cheered on her husband from the stands at Mr Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore as she was seen giving the cricketer flying kisses. Photos and videos, showing Anushka’s absolute joy, have now gone viral on social media.

With his seventh century IPL, Virat Kohli overtook Chris Gayle and now holds the record for most hundreds of IPLs. The West Indies batsman has scored six centuries in the Indian cricket league. On top of that, Kohli also became the third hitter to record consecutive IPL centuries, following in the footsteps of Jos Buttler and Shikhar Dhawan.

Meanwhile, work-wise, Anushka will be seen next portraying a female cricketer herself in Chakda Xpress, which is the biopic of former Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami. Director Prosit Roy will be a direct-to-digital release on the Netflix streaming platform later this year.

Chakda Xpress will also see Anushka Sharma mark her return to acting after more than four years since her last starring role was in Aanand L Rai’s romantic drama Zero in December 2018, in which she was paired with Shah Rukh Khan. Although the actress was seen in a guest appearance in the 2022 psychological drama Qala headlined by Tripti Dimri, who is reportedly in a relationship with Anushka’s brother Karnesh Ssharma.
