Anthony Joshua stood up to Jarrell Miller and told him to ‘shut the fuck up’ when he spoke during confrontation with Alexander Povetkin

Anthony Joshua and Jarrell Miller developed a fierce rivalry between 2018 and 2019, but ultimately never met in the ring.

After becoming an irrefutable superstar in the UK, AJ’s next step was to attempt to conquer America – with Miller identified as the perfect opponent.

With promoter Eddie Hearn signing a lucrative deal to stage fights in the United States on the DAZN streaming service, Joshua now had a new platform in the country.

When talks with Deontay Wilder broke down in 2018, he announced his next fight would be against Alexander Povetkin in London.

However, in an effort to help build his profile in the United States, he flew to New York to preview the fight in front of the media at DAZN’s kick-off press conference.

Also at this event was the new American heavyweight signing of Hearn – Miller.

Never one to keep quiet, Miller has called Joshua several times before.

When presented with the opportunity to speak to her face, he took it.

Miller broke up AJ’s confrontation with Povetkin by standing to the side and yelling at them.

Joshua refused to take this lying down.

The couple soon broke up as they came face to face.

They then launched into a tirade of insults at each other, with the Briton calling the American a “little bitch” and repeatedly telling him to “shut the fuck up”.

After knocking out Povetkin, AJ signed to face Miller in his United States debut.

However, the American infamously failed several drug tests and so Joshua went up against Andy Ruiz Jr instead – the rest is history.
