Anne-Marie Trevelyan appointed new UK transport chief – POLITICO

LONDON — Britain’s new Prime Minister Liz Truss has named Anne-Marie Trevelyan her new transport secretary.

The former trade secretary backed a rival candidate, Tom Tugendhat, in the Tory leadership campaign but switched to Truss when he was eliminated.

During his time at the Commerce Department, Trevelyan secured new free trade agreements with Australia and New Zealand, as well as a digital deal with Singapore.

She also headed the International Development Department until it became part of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
