An eyewitness to Anne Heche’s accident in Los Angeles shared details of the accident with Fox News Digital on Saturday.

The witness, Lynne Bernstein, described the accident as “horrific” and said he could “barely breathe” as he tried to help Heche out of the blue Mini Cooper she was driving.

“The smoke was just getting too intense, we could barely breathe,” Bernstein said. “The smoke made visibility difficult.”

Bernstein noted that her neighbor, Dave, asked Heche if she was okay and she said no. Los Angeles firefighters arrived on the scene, asked neighbors if anyone was in the house, and alerted first responders that a woman was inside.

The tenant of the house came out of her house through a side room and was “shocked” by what had happened. “Get out of my house,” the tenant told the group of people outside her house before realizing a car had rammed into her house.

Dave took the tenant’s two dogs to his home. Bernstein noted that the tenant was “perfectly well, thank goodness” after the explosive accident.

Bernstein shared with Fox News Digital that Heche was “conscious” but he was unsure how “coherent” she was after the accident.
