After publicly accusing Emma Roberts of intentionally confusing her on the set of American Horror Story: 1984Angelica Ross shared that Roberts has since called her to apologize.
“Thank you @RobertsEmma for calling and apologizing, recognizing that your behavior was not that of an ally. I will leave the line open to follow through on your desire to do better and support social justice causes with your platform,” Ross shared in a statement. Tweeter yesterday (September 20).
In an Instagram Live and a series of tweets shared earlier on Wednesday, Ross – who is an outspoken trans activist and actor – called out Roberts for deliberately misinterpreting her and making fun of her voice while they were filming together.
“(Roberts) said, ‘John. Angelica is mean. I know she’s not real, real,” she said, likely referring to director John J. Gray. “She’s just nonsense. And John says, “Okay, ladies. That’s enough. Let’s get back to work.’”
Ross continued: “And (Roberts) looks at me then. She said, “You don’t mean lady.’ The interaction made Ross’ blood “boil,” she said, but she refused to report Roberts.
“I didn’t talk to that bitch for the whole time after that,” she said. “We had scenes together and I never spoke to him. She told me she could feel the energy emanating from me. She said to me, “Are you okay?” You didn’t speak.’
Ross also claimed she decided not to report him after seeing someone else talk about Roberts’ behavior in a separate incident. “They had repercussions from it. Not her. They did it,” Ross said.
Her accusations against Roberts came after the actress also called out Ryan Murphy for keeping her in the lead during a possibly Black-led film. AHS season then the ghost.
In the alleged screenshot emails, Murphy asked her for her recommendations of black actresses to hire for the series.
“After not having an answer,” she said wrote in a post sharing a screenshot of his latest email. “After sending flowers and no response, I sent one last email in February 2022 (it took about a year to film season 10 due to COVID) while still contractually in first position with the series . Mind you, Marvel had called twice now. Since then, I haven’t heard from him. »
Neither Murphy nor Roberts have issued public statements regarding Ross’s claims.
Ross starred in American Horror Story: 1984 And American Horror Story: double feature. She also gave a memorable performance as Candy, an audience favorite in Laid.
