Andy Murray suffered a loss to Matteo Berrettini in the Stuttgart final on Sunday afternoon with an injury sustained in the third set which is cause for concern.
Murray was playing his first ATP final on grass since 2016 in a good run where he knocked out Stefanos Tsitsipas and Nick Kyrgios on his way.
Berrettini was Wimbledon runner-up last year and won 6-4 5-7 6-3 as he ramps up his preparations for the upcoming Grand Slam.
The worrisome moments for the 35-year-old Briton came as he had to call the physio twice in the third set.
He could be heard telling his team: “From the back it’s fine but there’s no way I can serve properly.”
He underwent heavy treatment in the left groin/hip area and was visibly limping towards the end of the game.
This will be of particular concern with Wimbledon starting in just two weeks and it’s a tournament he has particularly targeted.

Murray decided, in large part, to skip the clay season so he could have a good run on the grass.
He is due to play at Queens next week in the last major tournament before Wimbledon, but his participation may be in doubt.
Speaking on the pitch after the match, he said: “There has been a lot of progress over the past few weeks and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
“I feel a lot better about my game and hopefully my body can hold out a bit longer.”
