An anti-dumping duty on carpets and other floor coverings

The anti-dumping measure on imports of carpets and other mechanically-produced textile floor coverings of Chinese, Egyptian or Jordanian origin is now final. This measure, which took effect on September 9, is for a period of 5 years. This is indicated by the administration of customs and indirect taxes in a circular. This decision comes after the application of a provisional anti-dumping duty which was implemented on April 1 for a period of 6 months.

In detail, the definitive anti-dumping duty is applied to importers of producers from China at 144%, to Oriental Weaver (Egypt) and other exporting producers from Egypt at 35.33%. Arab Weavers (Jordan) and the other exporting producers in Jordan escaped this measure. Customs calls on the persons concerned to proceed with the definitive collection of the amounts recorded in application of circular n° 6306/211 of March 30, 2022, up to the amount of the definitive anti-dumping duty. Note that the difference between the definitive duty and the provisional duty is refunded to importers.
