Amtrak train crashes into truck, injuring four passengers in Oklahoma

Amtrak train 822 was traveling between Fort Worth, Texas, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, when it struck the truck on BNSF railroad tracks near Thackerville, spokesman Marc Magliari said. The collision occurred at approximately 7:00 p.m. CT.

In a Facebook post, the Love County Sheriff’s Office described the truck as a “car tractor-trailer.”

“The driver of the tractor-trailer and his dog are shaken but everyone is alive,” the sheriff’s office said.

Four people were taken by ambulance to a local hospital, according to Love County Sheriff Marty Grisham.

Amtrak said four passengers sustained minor injuries. There were 110 passengers and crew on board the train at the time of the crash, the company added.

Local authorities are investigating the incident.
