AMLO is going for the salary of the president of the INE and will promote a new law to lower it

President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) will seek to reduce the high wages in the National Electoral Institute (INE), since he assured these violate the republican austerity promoted by the government of the so-called Fourth Transformation (4T) and, to achieve this, it plans to promote a new initiative that acts to the detriment of all officials who have a higher economic remuneration than the president national.

National Civic Front enlisted a rally against AMLO’s Plan B in the Zócalo
The group called on the citizens and the parties to hold the demonstration by the end of February
And it is that, according to the Federal Law on Remuneration of Public Servants (LFRSP), no public servant could earn more than the President of the Republic, since it is the position with the most responsibility in Mexico. From then on they would be the salaries of the governors, secretaries and presidents of autonomous public bodies.
In such a way that, as the INE has presented resistance to lower the salary, along with other autonomous organizations, the federal government will take action on the matter and create a new initiative to resolve this difference. This was confirmed by Adam Augusto Lopezhead of the Ministry of the Interior (Segob), who said that it will probably be presented in March.
“Yes, an initiative is being worked on to finish regulating the issue of wages, but I think that more or less in March it could be presented”
Said statement was made after the Plenary meeting of National Regeneration Movement (Brunette), where he touched on different topics in a press conference where he discussed both political and electoral issues with the members of the union who attend to the fountain and, in relation to this initiative, he could not ensure if it will be attended in this ordinary period, since he does not know the pending legislative.
Ciro Murayama reminded AMLO of the electoral fraud of 1988 and the alteration of votes
The counselor responded to the president of Mexico: Do you prefer the 1988 CFE in the hands of the government or an autonomous and professional INE?
Another element that is worth noting is that this initiative, in the event that it has the legislative endorsement and enters into force, will not affect Lorenzo Córdova, INE President Councilor, nor Ciro Murayama, member of the General Council, since both they and Adriana Margarita Favela Herrera and José Roberto Ruiz Saldaña they will leave this organization, since their time in it ends on April 3 of this year.
This means that the initiative is not against any counselor in particular, but against the position, because, according to the promoters of the 4T, in the INE there are 120 officials who receive a higher salary than AMLO. According to the INE transparency page, Cordova Vianellolike the other members of the General Council, has a gross monthly perception of 234 thousand 519.51 pesos, of which 65 thousand 394.11 are deducted in taxes, leaving a net total of 169 thousand 125.4 pesos.

In contrast, the salary of President of the Republic, after taxes is 121 thousand 549 pesos monthly; this means that Lorenzo Córdova has a monthly economic remuneration of 47 thousand 576 pesos more than the presidentwhich annualized represents 570 thousand 912 pesos. It should be remembered that this is not exclusive to the INE, as there are other agencies that refused to reduce their salaries and their top managers continue to earn more than AMLO.

Electoral Reform Plan B has “poisoned ingredients” and threatens the vote: INE
The councilors of the organization attacked AMLO’s plan that intends to implement various modifications to the electoral processes
The head of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR), of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), of the President Commissioner of the Federal Economic Competition Commission (Cofece), of the Federal Institute of Telecommunications (Ifel), of the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (Inai), as well as the presiding magistrates of the Federal Court of Administrative Justice (TFJA) and the Upper Room of the electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF).
However, given the ambiguity of the assertions of Adam Augusto Lopezthe scope of said initiative is unknown or if it will attend to the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States (CPEUM) or if it will only be secondary laws.
