Americans don’t understand how good the economy is right now

Democratic strategist James Carville said Thursday on CNN’s “OutFront” that the average American doesn’t understand how well the US economy is doing.

Burnett said, “So mentioned a new CNN poll that found two-thirds of all Americans now disapprove of how President Biden specifically handles the economy, two-thirds of all Americans. It’s bad. On top of that, more than 50% of Democrats think the economy is in bad shape, up 16 percentage points from December. Eighty-one percent of independents think the economy is doing badly. These are all bad numbers, not good numbers in any of this. How much of a problem is this for the president?

Carville said: “Well, that’s a huge deal. Let me tell you something else. A plurality of Americans believe no jobs were created under Joe Biden, and I believe his first 16 months are the best open 16 months of any president since World War II. in terms of job creation.

He continued, “We have supply chain issues that are causing a lot of grief. Shanghai is probably the number one port in the world in terms of supply chain. So they have huge problems, but understand that we have had very good job creation and we have had a real reduction in child poverty.

He added: “I don’t think people, I think there’s a full picture of an economy here. I don’t think people in America fully understand where it is. There are bad things, but if we make these decisions on the assumption that no jobs are being created, that is simply not true. Jobs are being created left and right.
