American Idol Host Scotty McCreery Quits Show After Seeing Man Hit Woman

Scotty McCreery does not tolerate violence during its shows.

THE American Idol A former student interrupted his performance of his song “It Matters to Her” during a show at the Colorado State Fair this weekend after seeing a man allegedly assault a woman in the crowd.

“Right there, that’s a lady you just hit, sir,” Scotty said in a video of the concert shared on Facebook on August 27. “Absolutely not, you just hit the lady.”

Pointing to a person in the audience, the “Five More Minutes” singer then called police into the building before asking, “Is she okay? Get out of here.”

And as he waited for security to escort the man out of the room, Scotty made it clear that he did not tolerate that kind of behavior.

“On God’s green earth. At a Scotty McCreery show?” the 30-year-old asked. “What are you doing?”

Scotty added: “This is absolutely unacceptable.”
