Amazon Studios reportedly trying to do a Mass Effect TV show

According to a report by Deadline, Amazon does not count on the just launched Wheel of time series and its upcoming show The Lord of the Rings to attract science fiction / fantasy viewers. The entertainment media reports that Amazon “is on the verge of an agreement to develop a series” based on the Mass Effect Games.

While Electronic Arts and BioWare haven’t announced a series, there have been more than a few clues. Earlier this year, the project director for EA’s remastered Mass Effect: Legendary Edition trilogy set says Business intern that it is “not a matter of if, but when” a film or television program project appears related to the game.

There was also this interesting Instagram post in February from Henry Cavill, who might want to add Commander Shepard to his geeky resume with Superman and Geralt from The witcher. The actor posted an easily blurry image hinting at a “secret project?” Mass effect 3.

Any other detail, like how it might tie into a new game in the series, is unclear, although some people – like this very imaginative wiki editor – have already made a fan cast in their heads. W Well, there’s a safe guess I can make – it probably won’t be based on Mass Effect: Andromeda.
