Alia Bhatt started shooting for her co-production Jigra on Wednesday and posted photos from the first day of shooting on her social media. Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala, narrates the journey of Alia’s character, who goes to all limits to protect her brother. In the carousel post, Alia was captured doing her touch-ups before the shoot, and she was accompanied by her sister Shaheen Bhatt. In another photo, Vasan was seen looking at the monitor. On September 26, Alia Bhatt surprised her fans by announcing her upcoming film titled Jigra. Directed by Vasan Bala of Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, Alia is also co-producing the film under her banner Eternal Sunshine Productions, along with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions.
The National Award-winning actress shared the announcement video on her Instagram. The minute-long clip, with haunting background music, begins with a quote from GK Chesterton: “The paradox of courage is that you have to be a little carefree about life to keep it.” In her voiceover, Alia then states that she will never let anything happen to her brother, whom she calls “Jigra”.
