Grateful for vaccines, Taiwanese minister to lead investment delegation in Europe

TAIPEI (Reuters) – Grateful for COVID-19 vaccine donations and other support, Taiwan will send a senior minister to lead an investment delegation to three Central and Eastern European countries next month to strengthen trade ties, Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday. Remus Chen, head of the ministry’s Europe department, told reporters the group of 65 would travel by chartered flight to Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Lithuania, which together pledged a total of 60,000 shots in Taiwan, from 20 to October 30. It will be headed by Kung Ming-hsin, who heads the National Development Council which is in charge of Taiwan’s industrial development policy, Chen added.
