Alabama escapee Casey White to be brought back to Lauderdale County

VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT/WHNT) – Alabama fugitive Casey White, who was captured in Indiana after escaping from Lauderdale County Detention Center with a corrections worker, appeared in Superior Court on Monday of Vanderburgh.

White has waived the extradition and will return to Alabama, “soon” according to court officials.

Casey White and his accomplice, Vicky White (no relation) were taken into custody after a brief police chase in Evansville on Monday. Vanderburgh County Sheriff Dave Wedding said Casey turned himself in after the car stopped and Vicky White was injured with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Vicky later died at a local hospital.

It’s unclear exactly when Casey will return to Alabama, but Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said he will be briefly taken back to the Lauderdale County Courthouse for arraignment and then immediately transported to the Corrections Department. from Alabama.
