A strange college football weekend filled with near misses, but few actual upsets produced minor changes in the American LBM Coaches Poll.
The top eight teams remain the same, led by No. 1 Georgia. The Bulldogs needed a second-half rally to overtake South Carolina, but easily hold on to the top spot, chosen first on all but two of the 65 ballots cast this week.
Michigan also got off to a slow start against Bowling Green, but remains in second place, maintaining a No. 1 vote. Florida State narrowly escaped Boston College and is clinging to third place, followed by No. 4 Ohio State. The Buckeyes overwhelmed Western Kentucky to claim the final first place on the eve of their huge showdown with Notre Dame.
Southern California, the only Top 25 team not to play this weekend, remains No. 5, followed by Texas, Penn State and Washington.

The shuffle begins at No. 9, thanks to Tennessee’s loss at Florida. Notre Dame climbs two spots to ninth, setting up the third top-10 matchup of the season next week with the Buckeyes. Utah also climbs two spots to round out the top 10, while Tennessee slips to No. 20. Alabama, at No. 12 after a lackluster win at South Florida, falls out of the top 10 for only the second time since the 2015 season.
Washington State is the only newcomer in the Top 25, ranking 24th just ahead of fellow Pac-12 member UCLA.
Kansas State drops out after loss at Missouri.
