Al Jazeera accuses Israel of the ‘blatant murder’ of Shireen Abu Akleh

Al Jazeera said Israeli forces carried out a “gross murder” of its correspondent Shireen Abu Akleh, who was killed in Israel’s raid on a refugee camp in Jenin on Wednesday morning.
“In a flagrant murder, violating international laws and standards, Israeli occupying forces murdered Al Jazeera correspondent in Palestine, Shireen Abu Akleh, in cold blood, targeting her with live fire early this morning,” the channel said, adding that Abu Akleh was “carrying out his duty as a journalist” and “clearly wearing a press jacket that identifies him as a journalist”.
Al Jazeera said producer Ali Al-Samudi was being treated for gunshot wounds to his back sustained in the same incident. The network further pledged to “prosecute perpetrators legally, regardless of their efforts to conceal their crime, and bring them to justice.”
It is a story of rupture.
