After four consecutive weekly gains, here’s why the stock will be in focus Monday

The telecom operator informed stock exchanges over the weekend that it has made payment of Rs 1,701 crore, including interest, to the Department of Telecom (DoT) in respect of the 2022 spectrum auction tranche.

Last month, the company had said it was offering to pay the tranche of nearly Rs 1,680 crore to the DoT by availing a grace period of 30 days with interest. The company managed to do this within 30 days.

Vodafone Idea management, during the earnings conference call, also mentioned that capital raising negotiations for the company have picked up pace in recent times. However, no clarity has yet emerged on this subject.

Vodafone Idea shares also ended 7.5 per cent higher on Friday and doubled from their 52-week low of Rs 5.7 to which they had fallen earlier in the year.
