After days of pressure, Kathy Barnette releases a DD-214

Pennsylvania Senate candidate Kathy Barnette released a DD-214 on Saturday showing the first few months of her active duty in the military, amid scrutiny of her past claims that she served 10 years in the armed forces.

Barnette posted DD-214 to Twitter, after nearly a week of questions from reporters trying to verify her file and asking for this specific document, which raised questions about whether the rising candidate was ready for a general election. in November.

DD-214 shows the first months of his military career in 1990 – which would be basic training and advanced individual training for his military occupational specialty (MOS), which at the time was an administration specialist.

Retired Army Col. Kurt Schlicter, who is backing Barnette’s opponent David McCormick in the race, told Breitbart News after seeing the DD-214 that Barnette released: “There is no nothing that jumps out at me out of the usual about it.”

Barnette only released his NGB-22 last week, which is the equivalent of a DD-214, but for Army National Guard soldiers.

NGB-22 showed she joined the Army in 1990, and three years later she joined the Alabama Army National Guard, serving from 1993 to 1998. Another document she published shows that she was honorably discharged from the Army Reserve in 2000, after a total of 10 years of service.

The Army also confirmed for the first time to Breitbart News that Barnette served in the Army National Guard from 1993 to 1998 and in the Army Reserve from 1998 to 2000. The Army said any records additional should be obtained from the National Archive Records Administration since she had left the military more than 15 years ago.

However, further questions arose, even after Barnette released her NGB-22, when she confirmed in some interviews that she had a DD-214 during her first three years in the military on active duty, but did not say if she would release it.

The Senate primary race is statistically a three-way tie between Trump-endorsed nominee Mehmet Oz, McCormick and Barnette.

The primary is Tuesday.
