After Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea increases prepaid rates by 20 to 25% from November 25

Telecommunications service provider Vodafone Idea has said it has decided to increase its prepaid rates by around 20 to 25 percent. The new rates will take effect on November 25.

In a filing with the exchange, the company said the new plans would kickstart the process of improving Average Income Per User (ARPU) and help deal with the financial stress the industry is facing.

As a result, the lowest package available on the operator’s network will now be priced at Rs 99 instead of Rs 79 previously. The high-end plan of Rs 2,399 will be priced at Rs 2,899.

On Monday, Bharti Airtel also announced a 20-25% rate hike as of November 26, 2021. Thus, the current rate of Rs 75 with a validity period of 28 days will be increased to Rs 99 while the current rate of Rs 149 with a validity period of 28 days will be increased to Rs 179.
