2020 has been a terrible year for Pierre Le Bigaut – Cystic Fibrosis with the cancellation of the Rando Muco and the PLB, the latter replaced by a Solidarity Day, in the rain, in September. “We knew that 2021 would be much more difficult. In 2020, partner actions were still able to be organized before the first confinement. This is not the case this year ”, deplores Daniel Bercot, the co-president and founder of the PLB Muco.
Two challenges in one
No question, for the humanitarian association, to give up. The fight against cystic fibrosis does not wait. So she adapts to health restrictions by setting up new actions, in order to raise funds. So, the Rando Muco of containment will be renewed, in a version adapted to the current health context. “On s’bouge pour la Rando Muco” is a sporting challenge to be carried out by teams of two or four people, between May 8 and 30.
Two options are offered. The first: the association marked out, during the duration of the challenge, four circuits for trail running, hiking or Nordic walking (from 8 to 23 km) and eight others for mountain biking (from 14 to 70 km) in Belle -Isle-en-Terre. Departures and arrivals at the sports ground of Prat Elès. The second, also in teams of two or four, is the challenge of the barjots, on foot or by bike. It is a question of adding the maximum of positive elevation on the hill of your choice in the space of one hour. “The Ménez Bré, the cliffs of Plouha or the staircase of his house… There are an endless number of possible spots. We leave room for the imagination ”, specifies Julien Hervé, sports events manager at PLB Muco.
The Chrono of Hope renewed
Another challenge implemented in 2020 and renewed in May: the Chrono of Hope, which mobilized 395 cyclists last year, including, for example, Sandra Lévenez, professional cyclist at Team Arkéa. The principle remains the same, a 19.920 km route of his choice, on all types of bikes, from May 17 to 24. “You have to try to find a course that is as flat as possible, so that there is a certain fairness. This time can be achieved collectively, during a club outing, with a route determined in advance and delayed starts, ”explains Julien Hervé. The time of 25’59 established by Benjamin Fonte (hourly average of 46 km / h) for Montpellier, remains to be beat.
