Aditi Ashok stays in T-7 halfway through LGPA Lotte Championships

Aditi Ashok, the 24-year-old golfer from India, birdied no birds in the second round of the recent 2022 LPGA LOTTE Championship, but kept her composure in the windy conditions to finish one of 73. Aditi, who opened with a 5-under 67, is now 4-under and tied for seventh at the table.

Korea’s Hyo Joo Kim had five second-round birdies, including a chip-in from about 20 feet from the green at No. 6, and is the only bogey-free player through 36 holes. She is now 10 under par and leads the field, with Australia’s Sarah Kemp (69) in second place.

Aditi, who started the tenth, parried the entire back stretch and then added five more pars, looking like she was on her way to a par 18 day when she bogged the Par-5 fifth on her 14th hole. After which, she put 4 more pars to put 73.

In 2022, the Indian has placed in the top 15 at her first two tournaments, the Gainbridge LPGA in Boca Rio and the LPGA Drive On. She also made the cut at the Chevron Championship, a major tournament. Kemp shot a bogeyless 69 in the second round, and her third hole of the week came at No. 14, where she contributed just before the green. On the first day she bogeyed holes 6 and 10.

At six under, Ariya Jutanugarn and Haeji Kang are tied for third. At five under, Koreans A Lim Kim and Na Rin An are tied for fifth place. Hannah Green, the first-round leader, shot a 4-for-76 in the second round and is in T-17 at two under par.
