AC Milan engage in talks with Chelsea over Hakim Ziyech loan deal

According to reports from Athletic, AC Milan are in talks with Chelsea over a loan deal for striker Hakim Ziyech as Stefan Pioli aims to bolster his attacking options to retain the Serie A crown next season. The Moroccan has endured an inconsistent spell with the Blues so far.

Hakim Ziyech has established himself as one of the best strikers in European football during his time with Ajax. The Moroccan striker produced a series of impressive performances which propelled the Dutch club to the semi-finals of European competition in 2018. Ziyech’s sensational performances caught the eye of several elite European clubs with chelsea winning the race for the striker as they parted ways on €40m in 2020.

The Moroccan made 83 appearances for the Blues while scoring 14 goals and registering ten assists in all competitions. Ziyech has been in and out of Thomas Tuchel’s starting line-up as he failed to put in consistent performances for the England side. According to reports from Athletic, the Moroccan international is set to leave the club this summer as he wants to seek regular playing time at his new destination with AC Milan in talks with Chelsea over a possible loan deal. Negotiations between the two clubs began weeks ago, with the Italian club stepping up their efforts to strike a deal this week.

It is understood that Tuchel is ready to let the forward leave for the right price as he aims to bolster their attacking options by bringing in Rahphina from Leeds and Rahim Sterling of Manchester City. Personal terms won’t be an issue for the Italian club as they will look to strike a deal with Ziyech quickly after reaching an agreement on the structure of the deal. It is understood that Chelsea will want to include an obligation to buy the forward after his loan spell ends, although Milan are only keen to include an option to buy.
