The next season of “The Bachelorette” won’t air until October 19, but the producers have reportedly already picked one of Michelle Young’s suitors to be the next star of “The Bachelor.”
Variety reports that the producers have already chosen Clayton Echard, a 28-year-old orthopedic sales rep from Eureka, Missouri, to star in the 26th season of the ABC reality show.
The publication said multiple sources have unofficially confirmed that Erhard is ABC’s choice. A source at Warner Bros. declined to comment on the casting to HuffPost.
Variety said that Erhard won’t be officially announced as “The Bachelor” anytime soon since Young’s season hasn’t officially aired.
Yet E! Online reported on Wednesday that a film crew was seen filming a promotional video outside Echard’s home in Eureka.
Fans will get their first official glimpse of Echard on “The Bachelorette,” but, according to his Instagram page, he describes himself as “a former freestyle rapper and failed athlete.”
Heavy.com reported that the “failed athlete” comment is a joking reference to Echard’s football career.
He played college football at the University of Missouri, starting as a defensive lineman before moving on to tight end. In 2016, he attended the Seattle rookie minicamp on a trial basis, but failed to make the squad.
Echard’s LinkedIn page reported that he has been a full sales representative for Stryker Orthopedics for the past five years.
