ABC11 meteorologist leaves for a job at ABC’s New York branch

ABC11 meteorologist Brittany Bell is leaving the station this week for a new role at ABC’s flagship subsidiary, WABC / ABC7 in New York City.

Bell announced on social media platforms Thursday that she would begin her work at WABC in July. His last day at WTVD will be Friday June 11.

The move won’t be Bell’s first experience doing weather forecast for ABC from New York.

Bell served as the weekend meteorologist for the New York studio’s “Good Morning America” ​​in July, August and September 2019, and made frequent appearances on “ABC World News Tonight” on national weather events.

This decision represents a huge leap for Bell in terms of market size. New York is ranked No.1 Nielsen DMA and the Raleigh-Durham Market is ranked No.24 for 2021.

Bell arrived at WTVD in 2017, before working at WAPT-TV in Jackson, Mississippi.

Bell is married to Terran Kirksey, a meteorologist for WFMY in Greensboro. The couple live in Knightdale with their two dogs, Stormy and Summer.
