He said that while most people his age have a list of things they do to which they attribute their health, he believes the reason for his longevity is “Not so much what I have done, but what I have not done.”

Among the things he has not done, two stand out: smoke cigarettes and drink alcohol. He admitted that he never acquired those habits and thinks that that may be one of the keys why he has lived so long enjoying good health.

Although he has two daughters and a large family, Gordon lives alone, especially after the death of his wife, and he claims that he is strong enough to take perfectly good care of himself and maintain his independence.

Among the “keys” to his life, he stated that it is very important “Live sensibly, breathe regularly, think positively, and live hopefully.”

While others around him are amazed at his longevity, humble Gordon doesn’t see what all the fuss is about.
