A man climbs to the top of a pylon tower causing the southbound lane to close near East Little York on the Hardy Toll Road

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) – The southbound lanes of Hardy Toll Road in Little York are open again after what appeared to be a man atop a pylon tower overlooking the toll lane.

At 7:13 a.m. Saturday, TranStar reported a road closure near East Little York.

The man first appeared shirtless and was seated at a high point in the tower.

At around 8:05 a.m., the man changed his sitting position.

About nine minutes later, the person was seen descending further down the tower.

At 8:30 a.m., he is seen at the lower end of the tower before jumping to the ground. First responders on the scene then helped the man by giving him water.

It is not known how the man climbed the tower or why he was on top.

Officials say the man remained on the tower for about 90 minutes before rescuers were able to lower him.

According to officials, the man has done similar things like this before.
