A dangerous windstorm will hit Bay Area on Thursday morning

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) – A windstorm arrives Wednesday night when most of us will be sleeping.

A wind advisory is in effect Thursday from 12 p.m. to 10 a.m. for the Diablo Range, East Bay Hills and North Bay Mountains, as well as a wind advisory from 1 a.m. to 4 p.m. for Solano County .

Prepare early to avoid possible damage from dangerous 40-55 mph winds.

Be sure to secure all outdoor objects, avoid parking under trees, and charge batteries in case you lose power overnight.

High level vehicles crossing east/west bridges like the Richmond San Rafael Bridge, Bay Bridge, San Mateo Bridge and Dumbarton Bridge will experience gusty crosswinds.

Excessive speed and unusually dry air increase our fire danger.

We would be under fire weather watch, but the Bay Area vegetation is not too dry and the temperature is mild.
