A young woman has filed a complaint against the NRJ radio host for two rapes that she accuses him of having committed, including one when she was 16 years old.
For several days, he had been questioned on social networks. Sébastien Cauet is now the subject of a complaint for rape, BFMTV learned from the Bourg-en-Bresse public prosecutor’s office, confirming information from The Obs.
A young woman has filed a complaint against the NRJ radio host for two rapes that she accuses him of having committed, including one when she was 16 years old in 2014. The next one, according to her, took place in Switzerland in 2022.
The host “firmly contests” the facts with which he is accused, said his lawyer, Me Clemenceau, in a press release sent to BFMTV.com: “Sébastien Cauet is at the disposal of the justice and police services, in which he has full confidence and will calmly provide the elements likely to demonstrate the inanity of the accusations brought against him.”
Accusations on social networks
Since October, very explicit messages of a sexual nature, attributed to the host, have been circulating on X (formerly Twitter). A young woman thus published what she claims was an exchange between Sébastien Cauet and her, when she was still a minor. Another assures that Cauet would have made the same type of remarks to her on WhatsApp.
A third indicates, still on X, that she also “tried to talk about it a year ago”. All these testimonies were highlighted and relayed by a pseudonymous account, used to relaying rumors and followed by more than 140,000 subscribers on Twitter.
“I am deeply shocked by the accusations made against me here,” he reacted on the social network. “These allegations are completely false, fabricated and defamatory.”
The Nanterre public prosecutor’s office also indicated to AFP on Friday November 17 that two complaints for “harassment of a person by means of a public online communication service” were filed by the host on Wednesday.
