A 22-year-old New Hampshire man was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning in Wilmington for “disturbing the peace” after allegedly playing music so loudly that police in three separate cities filed 911 complaints.

The man, Marc A. Lasalle, of Manchester, was playing music from a car with six full-size speakers mounted on its roof, Wilmington police said. It was parked in an Eames Street car park.

Wilmington police received multiple calls about loud music and arrested Lasalle around 1:30 a.m. Monday. The music was so loud that Reading and Woburn police also reportedly received complaints.

“Over the past few months, Wilmington has seen [an] increase in large groups of cars appearing in the [areas] play music at extremely high volumes that disturb local residents,” Wilmington police said.

They said they were “actively working” with nearby communities to end this behavior.
