Easton police are investigating after a car crashed into Trump’s New England store on Route 138 on Thursday.
The black 2015 Volkswagen Jetta crashed through the store’s front window shortly after 5 p.m., Deputy Chief Keith Boone said in a post on the department’s Facebook page.
The driver, a 46-year-old man from Raynham, was transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The store’s only employee at the time was not injured in the accident, Boone said.
“Luckily no one was inside, but 10 minutes before he entered the store there was a little boy and his mother here,” said store owner Keith Lambert. boston globe.
“Ten minutes later, the clerk working here would have gone to the bathroom and walked right into the area where the car was going to enter, so it was very close,” Lambert continued, adding that the accident caused dozens. of thousands of dollars in damages, the World reported.
The crash is being investigated by Easton Police Officer Chris Aker. As of Friday afternoon, police had no update on whether the accident was deemed intentional or accidental.
