Huge python grabs Thai woman and hugs her for two hours

A Thai woman has somehow survived a terrifying encounter with a massive python after the 16-foot snake wrapped itself around her waist while she was washing dishes – then squeezed her tight for two hours.

Arom Arunroj, 64, was cleaning her kitchen just outside Bangkok on Tuesday night when she felt a sharp pain in her thigh and looked down to see a huge python grabbing her, Thai newspaper Thairath reported.

“I was going to draw water and when I sat down, it bit me immediately,” Arunroj told the outlet. “When I looked, I saw the snake coiling around me.”

“I grabbed him by the head, but he wouldn’t let go,” she continued. “He just kept tightening.”

The snake continued to coil around Arunroj’s waist until she could no longer stand, forcing her to lean against the kitchen door as she screamed for help.

A neighbor finally heard her screams about 90 minutes later and quickly alerted authorities.

Chilling footage shows first responders arriving to find an exhausted and pale Arunroj sitting on the ground with the constrictor still wrapped around her.

Police and animal control officers were forced to hit the snake on the head with a crowbar to force it to finally release Arunroj from their clutches.

The woman was treated for several bites, but she was not injured, at least physically.

The snake, meanwhile, eventually fled before it could be captured, police said.

Pythons, which are not venomous, kill their prey by gradually crushing them until they die.

Although snake encounters are not uncommon in Thailand, python attacks on humans are rare.

Small pythons often feed on mammals such as rats, but larger snakes often prey on pigs, deer, and pet dogs and cats.
