Falcons announce initial 53-man roster for 2024

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — The time for speculation is over.

The Atlanta Falcons’ initial 53-man roster for the 2024 season was released Tuesday at 4 p.m. ET at the NFL deadline. The offense has 24 players, the defense has 26 and special teams rounds out the tally with three.

The Falcons had already released 13 players last Sunday, bringing their roster to 77 as of Tuesday. That means they had to make 24 more trades before the deadline. They released 21, waived/injured two others and placed one on injured reserve/designated to return.

Atlanta also released its international player, who was never counted on the 90-man training camp roster.
