“FINISH THEM,” Nikki Haley scribbles on Israeli artillery shell – POLITICO

Haley’s writing sparked immediate backlash from human rights watchdogs as Israel’s assault on Gaza has continued for months.

“Nikki Haley shows who she is,” said Kenneth Roth, former executive director of Human Rights Watch. “As Israeli bombings have killed many more Palestinian civilians than combatants, she signs a bombshell: “End it.” Why not just sign: “I support Israeli war crimes.”

Haley visited Israel’s northern border, a day after an Israeli airstrike killed at least 45 civilians, including children, at a Palestinian refugee camp in Rafah in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Israeli military said it attacked a Hamas compound, killing two high-ranking militants. After more details were revealed, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the strike a “tragic mistake” and announced an investigation.

The strike sparked international condemnation, with French President Emmanuel Macron calling for an end to the Israeli operation in Rafah, adding that there was “no safe area in Rafah for Palestinian civilians.”

According to Gaza estimates, Israel killed more than 35,000 people in its retaliation, after Palestinian Hamas militants killed 1,200 Israelis and took hundreds of hostages in a violent attack on October 7. last year.
