93-year-old woman hit and killed by Porsche in South Austin hit-and-run – NBC Chicago

An elderly woman was killed Thursday afternoon when a vehicle hit her in a south Austin crosswalk, Chicago police say.

Authorities say the incident happened in the 300 block of South Laramie Avenue around 12:23 p.m.

A 93-year-old woman was crossing the street on a crosswalk when she was hit by a Porsche Cayenne, police said.

Authorities say the car swerved around a stopped vehicle and into the bike lane before hitting the woman on the crosswalk. The vehicle then left the scene.

The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

No suspects are in custody and an investigation is ongoing.
