7 people injured in Chicago shootings since Friday night – NBC Chicago

At least seven people have been injured in citywide shootings since Friday night, including a 15-year-old boy who was shot dead in Englewood.

The teenager was walking down the street around 5:15 p.m. Friday in the 6800 block of South Halsted Street when someone fired, Chicago police said. He was punched in the arm and taken to Holy Cross Hospital in good condition.

A few hours later, a 14-year-old girl was injured in a shooting on the South Shore on the south side.

She was walking around midnight Saturday in the 7800 block of South Kingston Avenue when someone opened fire, police said. The teenager was scraped on the shoulder and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital undamaged.

Five other people have been shot dead in Chicago since 5 p.m. Friday.

Last weekend, six people were killed and 21 injured in incidents of gun violence across the city.
